I had a big trip in September so I knew I would be spending more on dining out. Since we found out when we arrived that most places took cash and I didn’t have my debit card, I tried to pay for anything that took card. I will be paid back for some of the dining out since some meals were for four people. One of the big budgeting lessons I learned from this trip is to research if certain places are predominantly cash only. We were all shocked by this discovery as we haven’t heard about this during our trip planning research. Although I went way over budget, it was an amazing trip full of great new experiences that I don’t regret paying for.

October 2022 Spending: $2,695

Rent: 48%

Groceries: 7%

Shopping: 2%

Dining Out: 19%

Health: 2%

Transportation: 7%

Work: 2%

Gifts: 2%

Membership: 2%

Travel: 4%

Misc: 2%

Subscription: 2%

Charity: 0%

Entertainment: 2%

We have a short trip this month to see family so I anticipate mostly spending more in dining out and transportation. Overall, hoping to cook more to save some money.
